Although the babies vision and hearing are still improving baby will be able to recognise your face by 2 months baby usually give a social smile from 4 weeks to 8 weeks. you can coax baby to smile when the baby is content relaxed and not hungry at that time hold baby in your arms close to you and talk in a sing song manner which parents generally do for example smile and say hello
