when babies are comfort nursing/sucking breast while sleeping, do they still suck out some milk?

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist6 years agoA. you will be able to differentiate slowly between actual feeding and comfort sucking.
feeding - watch for jaw movements, swallowing sounds, movements, frequency of suckling slow initially, faster as baby reaches hindmilk.
comfort sucking is superficial, babies are usually sleeping that time, frequency remains the same. easy to unlatch.

ExpertDr Bandana JoshiAyurvedic Physician6 years agoA. Yes, they suck while sleeping as well. Exclusively breast feed your baby till Six months and afterwards start weaning foods. As breast feed contains all the essential nutrients required for the healthy growth and development of the baby and improves immunity of the baby.
