Q.
What medication should i give to my 3 year ols son incase of high fever ? Please state the quantity as well.

DR SHIWAJIRAO PATILGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Hello, your baby boy is 3 years old and if he is having a fever upto 102/04 degrees then give him plenty of fluids and syrup ibugesic plus 7 ml three times a day

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctor dl consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
