If you are talking about India, most of the vaccines are now given by Government hospitals for free. The one which they do not have can be taken in private.
Those who go to private hospitals for vaccination probably know this, still do it because in Government hospitals:
They do not get personalized care. There is no doctor to answer their vaccine related issues.
No adjustment in dates is allowed
Availability of vaccine is not assured
People have somehow lost faith in the quality and upkeep of vaccines and medicines in that system.
No one cares to remind them of any lapses or anything new related to vaccines.
They may get consultation at the same time in private hospital.
Time issues.
But by and large, Government of India is doing immense efforts to improve immunization and provide it to every child.
