Honey is best , it can be given as for cough, you can add in some black pepper powder as well would be benefical if the child is licking it,
also honey can be given with some warm water as well.
vegetable soup, kadha can be used as well too , if their is phelum isssue , small baby onion can be made to a juice, and add ginger and honey and be given in small quantities
