A. Ingredients to make Rasam 1/2 cup Tamarind water 2 Tomatoes chopped 2 cups Water 1 tsp Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 2-3 Dry red chilies 2 tsp Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp Oil 10 Curry Leaves A pinch or two of Asafoetida/Hing 3 tsp Cumin seeds 2 tsp Black Pepper 6-7 Garlic chopped Salt to taste How to make Rasam Grind cumin seeds, black pepper and garlic to a semi coarse powder. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when it splutters, add dry red chilles, hing and curry leaves on low flame. Add tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are soft. Now add the semi coarse spice powder along with turmeric powder. Stir well. Add the tamarind water with salt and stir.Leave it to boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add coriander leaves Serve Rasam hot with rice
