ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. hello it's a silicon or rubber nipple sort of soother given to babies. you should avoid giving pacifiers as babies get used to it and later parents find it difficult to wean off this habit. can give pacifiers sometimes but avoid prolonged and continuous use. it should not be substituted for breastfeeding. it's not recommended as you may miss the cue that baby is hungry
