what is meningococcal vaccine? what is the right time to give this vaccine? is it effective?

A. meningococcal vaccine is one of the optional vaccines which you have to take around nine months to the baby but it is not advisable to take in normal babies it is indicated in babies having less immunity are going to attend big congregations

A. Meningococcal vaccine refers to any of the vaccines used to prevent infection by Neisseria meningitidis. Different versions are effective against some or all of the following types of meningococcus: A, B, C, W-135, and Y. The vaccines are between 85 and 100% effective for at least two years.Healthy children: should be immunized with a monovalent conjugate C meningococcal (Men-C-C) vaccine routinely at 12 months of age; however, they may begin meningococcal immunization earlier, depending on provincial and territorial schedules.
