In COMPLEMENTARY FEEDING start with two rules
Rule number 1 is that you have to give the food in the form which the child can swallow
Rule number 2 is that always give a new food for for 5 to 6 days to see whether the child is able to digest that food or not as well as it will help in creating the taste in the child.
you can gradually start all types of food made from cereals pulses vegetable millk and fruits. You have to start initially with less amount and gradually you can increase the amount
SanthoshiMom of a 8 yr old girl4 years agoA. One meal you can give intially. Try to start slowly with watery foods. initially you can start with simple purees and waters. These are easy digesting foods for baby tummy..like carrot, potato, banana and waters like rice or dal water. Then second week you can continue with other purees or combination of two fruits veggies, the third week you can give instant homemade rice cereal. Slowly you can add a veggie or fruit to the rice cereal this would give a different taste. Ensure to give a fruit and vegetable everyday. That will not lead to constipation.
