What are the solids I can start with for my 6 month old baby ?

A. This one is suggested by my baby's pediatrician
1st week morning time - Rice dal porridge
How to make :
Wash properly 1 cup of normal rice u use for cooking and 1/2 cup of moong/masoor dal separately. Let them dry completely for half a day or so, grind it to fine powder and filter that. Store the filtered powder in air tight jar. (It can be stored for a month)
To prepare porridge - Mix 1tspn powder with 1 cup water without lumps and cook on low flame continuously stir it so that it doesn't burn. Cook until it becomes like dosa batter consistency not too watery or not too thick, baby must be able to swallow. U can add a very little amount of ghee (homemade one is better) this helps in digestion.
Slowly u can add Ragi, oats and other simple porridge to the baby's diet.
2nd week - Apple puree
How to prepare :
Peel half apple, remove seeds and cut into small pieces. Steam cook it properly for 5 - 10min. Let it cool and grind it to puree.
Then u can continue with papaya, watermelon, carrot other vegetable's and fruits.
2nd week give puree in the morning and porridge in the evening.
3rd week give puree in the evening and new food item in the morning and continue the chain so that u will know if baby is allergic to any food or have any side effects like vomiting, stomache or constipation.
Keep a note of what u r feeding and is the baby okay with it.
"NO SALT, SUGAR TILL 1 YEAR"
You can give around 30ml of water per day which is boiled a little and left to cool.
Kindly refer to Google on how to feed a baby and things to remember.
PLS DONT FEED BABY IN LYING POSITION if he is able to sit properly with or without support. Have some patience as baby is new to eating solids and takes time to learn how to swallow.

A. Weaning food can be started from 5-6 months of age and in that initially in the initial stage you can introduce some semi solid food to the baby like Banana mango plum boiled Apple and then gradually you can start with some purie of carrot potato and some other foods which can be given are porridge of suji sabudana which can be prepared in breastm milk or formula milk.
initially you can start with one or two tsp which can be gradually increased up till at least thxree meals in a day

Dal rice water followed by fruits and vegetables Puri porridge khichadi mashed banana mashed potato all kind of fruits and vegetables can be given to the child you can go ahead with giving different varieties of Suji ragi in quinoa and oats dairy products and good amount of waterWrite Your Answer Here
