What are the disadvantages of giving formula milk to babies. Pls give suggestions

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist7 years agoA. no formula can replace the benefit of mother milk. no formula can imitate the components of mother's milk. Breast milk is most nutritious supports growth is safe and complete food for baby. Composition of breast milk changes individually for each baby according to the needs of the individual growing baby formula milk is best avoided, are high in sugar and , do not inculcate healthy eating habits, it is easy to have formula with bottle so child will not be interested to eat. formula fed baby may tend to over consume calories if feed is not prepared adequately, with bottle feeding of formula ; baby may over consume if baby continues to suckle for comfort at bottle when infants breastfeed, they are in control of how much milk they consume, when parents bottle-feed, they may try to get the baby to empty the bottle each time. this may affect child's ability to self regulate their calorie intake in response to their internal appetite cues various studies have also shown greater risk for obesity amongst formula fed babies this risk extends upto adolescence
