POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 years agoA. A breastfeeding strike happens when your baby refuses your breast, after previously feeding well. The spell of refusal usually only lasts for a few days, though it may last for as long as 10 days.
It can be upsetting when your baby turns away from your breast, especially if you have no idea why it's happening. While you’re racking your brains to work out what’s gone wrong, you may even feel that your baby doesn’t like you.
It's perfectly normal to have these feelings. Rest assured that your baby hasn't gone off you, just off the idea of feeding for some reason. Do tell your midwife, health visitor or breastfeeding specialist about how you're feeling. They'll support you through this stage.
