Q.

#momsknowbest  There's some controversy on introducing solids to babies. While the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) section on breastfeeding recommends that babies be exclusively breastfed for the first six months, the AAP's nutrition section and guidelines for pediatricians recommend starting solids at 4 to 6 months.Which one do you follow or recommend?

A. You should go through the article fully. There are certain signs of readiness which is listed there such as a baby can sit straight with support, has developed the ability to swallow food, shows interest in what you are eating, has doubled her birth weight etc. Some babies are genetically advanced and show readiness in four month itself. But still its better to wait till six month of the baby and breastfeed till that time if you are unsure.
