A. It is essential to have a clean, bright, dry and cool atmosphere in the house. Please install a humidifier so as to prevent the skin from drying. Soaps and detergents should be avoided while bathing the baby or washing the clothes because they can cause flare ups. Immediately after bath, a moisturising cream has to be applied on the skin. The cream should be hypoallergenic, with natural ingredients and it should be free of chemicals and fragrances. Atogla lotion helps. But apply only after consultation with your doctor. Tight fitting clothes and clothes made from synthetics should be avoided. Use creams with a very low percentage of cortisone. Pure aloe vera oil applied gently will cool the itching area and give symptomatic relief. Always bathe your child with lukewarm water. Dress the child in light clothes made of cotton.
