Q.

Sir my son is having constipation from 3 months he is currently on cow milk and is 18 months old

A. at this age the child should pass stool regularly. if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation. give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child it is important to give fibre diet from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everyday and avoid giving packet and d processed foods as well as biscuits and refined food adding papaya , fennel seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple banana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation.

A. Keep the baby hydrated. give plenty of water and also other liquids like coconut water buttermilk etc to the baby include beetroot papaya figs green leafy vegetables in the baby's diet give some warm water after meals avoid giving maida or bakery items to the baby include ghee in the baby's meals can add some ghee in some warm milk in the night and give it to the baby give soft foods encourage the baby to chew the food properly
