Q.

sir my son is 7month old. he is on top feed,cow milk(since past 1 month) and breast milk and he is having motion 4 times a day..is it normal? should we stop giving cow milk to him?

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe sometimes. Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also tghere could be micro bleeding in intestine because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .To start with cow's milk should be given than gradually you can shift to buffalo milk or a packet milk which is a mixfture of two .
