Q.
Sir... My baby is 6 weeks old and we have vaccinated him recently ... we have excluded PCV vaccine as it was optional. Is it the right thing to do??? Or else it is very essential.

ExpertDr. Pandurang sawantPaediatrician4 years agoA. Pneumoccocal vaccine should be given at 6,10, 14 wks and booster at 15 months of age
Pneumoccocal vaccine is a optional vaccine but always better to give.
It give protection against
Repeated tonsills infection, repeat sinus infection, throat infection, pneumonia, ear infection etc
Can go with any brand all are equally good and effective.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. in the current situation it is advisable to postpone all the vaccinations of the child because it is not safe for the child to be exposed in the condition of covid so better to to delay for few months but yes you should give PCV vaccine to the child later
