Q.

Sir my baby is 5 months 18 days only and she is suffering from fever w.e.f 27/09/2022 till date. But on 28/09/2022 examined by Dr. of Paediatrician(Copy of prescription enclosed) but the fever is going on higher and too hot body. What to do now Pse guide me?

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home rremedy to decrgease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and as you have already evaluated your baby with doctor , please folllw the prescription as in viral fever it takes five to six days to get recover….. Take care
