sir/madam after getting penta valent vaccine (10weeks ) my daughter is suffering from severe fever and unconscious ..doctor said it as fits.and he suggested to use phenobarbitone (gardenal syrup 20mg/5ml )daily 2 times up to 3 months .is it safe ? or any problem to her.

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/ddose as the first line treatment also this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if fever is repeating. and you can also do cold sponging of the body if required
