Q.
Should one put oil or ghee in a newborn baby’s ear and nose ? Is it safe ? As parents advise to do the same . Should we also feed them janam ghutti at this age , it includes haldi , harde and honey badam. I am really worried for using these . Please suggest

Dr Rashmi SriramGuardian of a 9 yr 5 m old girl7 years agoA. Hi please do not put ghee or oil. It is unhealthy and can lead to ear infection. Exclusive breast feeding not even water is recommended till 5 months of age.

Sonam PrasadMom of a 9 yr 8 m old boy7 years agoA. no dear please avoid using ghee or oil in baby's nose and ear better to give gentle massage in body only and give exclusively breastfeeding till 6 months when baby demands or in every 2 to 3 hours of gap
