ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist7 years agoA. yes it's safe . 1 avoid cold climate, cold winds. give plenty of feeds , adequate rest to the baby. indirect steam , hot water bath will also help. consult your paediatrician if baby is feeding less, excessively drowsy or if cold increases. post illness babies might be cranky , irritable. nose block congestion also result in loss of appetite, difficult sucking. try different head up feeding position. feed by spoon otherwise. Maintain hygiene. if bottle feeding, maintain sterility as its a common source of infections.

No medication without prescription please consult a paediatrician and he will guide you better after examination and analysis. Foment the baby's ears nose throat and chest with a warm cotton cloth but please check the cloth on your skin first and also make your bathroom steamy by running hot water tap for some time and make him sit in the bathroom for 10 to 15 minutes by taking your infant in your lap.to minimize the discomfort
