Q.

Right breast of my baby's nipple is swollen,why is it so?

A. Hello due to soreness Ensure that the baby latches properly Nipple along with some part of areola should go deep into baby's mouth. The mouth of baby should be opened wide and the chin should press on your breasts. This way baby feeds properly and nipples don't get hurt . To pull off the baby break the suction by putting your finger between his lips. You can apply nipple care butter by himalaya , in the time between feeds and wash well before you feed the next time. Avoud feeding from sore nipples till they heal. Can pump out some milk by breast pump and feed it through bottles. Can put a warm compress on sore nipples. This will provide relief. You can also use nipple shields.

A. It would be difficult to say anything without examination consult a paediatrician and he will guide you better after examination and analysis Massage the baby's chest gently and foment with a warm cotton cloth but please check the cloth on your skin first
