Q. Hi plz suggest can i give half boiled yellow portion of egg to my 8months old.. She is suffering from severe cough n her chest his badly congested.. Its a lot of sound from her chest while breathing-plz suggest -M really upset..!!!

Samidha MathurMom of 2 children8 years agoA. hi please don't be upset..I can really understand your situation very well being a mother too.. yes you can give half boiled egg to your 8 months old baby it is completely fine and ok but please make sure that the congestion should come out... for the solution of congestion you can give Tulsi Patta juice added with A Pinch of black pepper and 1 teaspoon of honey... it will give your baby a quick relief from cough and congestion... the blocked cough will come out either through vomiting or through motions..so do not be worry if your kid vomits after in taking Tulsi Patta juice,..

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children8 years agoA. Please don't give half boiled egg to your baby as it is not good for baby's tummy. Eggs are advisable to babies only a year of age as whites of egg are allergic. But if there is no family history of egg allergy then you can give fully cooked yellow yolk. To start with give only few amounts of yellow told. Then u can gradually increase the amount. For chest congestion. You can try this home remedy. Heat coconut oil and add little bit of powdered camphor (pure one without chemicals). Once the mixture is lukewarm apply on the baby's chest, back, neck, nose and feet gently. Make sure you add only little amount of camphor as it can cause skin irritation.

Bhurabi BharaliMom of a 12 yr old boy8 years agoA. egg should not be given to the baby before 10 months.. even after that only egg yolk should be given upto 1 year... Frequent cold and cough in babies is normal as their immunity system is still developing... so you should consult the pediatrician regarding the medicines... also you should include the immunity boosting items in the food... also you can give him ajwain and garlic sek on the chest and keep the Ajwain potli near the pillow of the baby when he sleeps... give him indirect steam... also massage his chest, back, palms and legs with mustard oil roasted with garlic... You can also put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on the baby's clothes or pillow, it's fumes will give relief from the congestion.... Use pillow... Keep her in slightly upright position.... You can give him pedia nasal drop with the consultantion of the pediatrician... Maintain hygiene and cleaningness around the baby... Also the baby vomit very frequently during the cold and cough as like we adults they cannot spit out the phulgum, so they Vomit it out... So vomiting during cough and cold is also common... So don't worry if he is doing so much vomiting... Actually it helps a lot to clear up... Give him plenty of rest... Keep him hydrated... also breastfeed him more often...as the breastmilk have the quality of changing its constituent as per the baby's need... It is the best medicines for the baby. .. You can Give diluted ginger juice tulsi water frequently in the day... Avoid citrus fruits till it get completely cured... Also give him some healthy fluids like soups , coconut water, etc.. As the baby don't like to have solid while having any illness.. . . breathing sound is due to the blocked nose.. so don't worry too much.. give nasal spray
