PreranaMom of a 12 yr 5 m old girl8 years agoA. hello, Many mothers choose to wean during a nursing strike, especially if their baby is older than six months, but most of the time, babies can be encouraged to return to breastfeeding within a few days. This requires patience and determination on your part, but is well worth the effort.

Bhurabi BharaliMom of a 12 yr 1 m old boy8 years agoA. Nursing strikes... Is not rare in babies... Don't worry too much... Generally some babies do the nursing strikes around this period... there may be many different reasons .... from having some physical discomfort like teething, blocked nose, pain etc to getting distracted, want to do something else , play, etc... also there are different phase of baby... sometimes they passes through very hungry phase and feed a lot and sometimes they goes through less hungry phase and feed less.... all are common... this are generally temperarory... generally the mom start to panic and start thinking that they don't want to breastfeed and ready for weaning... and start to offer other alternatives... so don't get panic ... keep offering the breastmilk very often... feed him in the places where there is no distraction for the baby... feed him in sleep... regularly pump your milk to keep the milk supply going on.. don't offer alternatives ... babies don't keep themselves starving... they will drink enough to keep them go... even if they drink for few minutes but they keep on drinking... so they don't Starve themselves. .. give a lot of skin to skin time to the baby... so don't worry... keep on trying...stress will only reduce the milk supply.... And affect negatively...
