A. If your son speaks only a few limited words and is not expressing himself or communicating properly, it could be a sign of speech delay. First, stay calm—many children start speaking later than others. Talk to him regularly, make eye contact, and speak slowly using simple words. Encourage him to repeat words, name objects, and sing rhymes. Avoid screen time and focus on real-life interactions. Read picture books together and ask him to point and name things. If there is no improvement by age 3, it’s best to consult a speech therapist or developmental pediatrician for early intervention and proper guidance. Early help brings better results.
