A. It's important to ensure that your child receives vaccinations on time to protect them from serious diseases. Since your son was scheduled for the DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus) vaccine in July 2024 and you missed it, you can still get him vaccinated now. Here’s what you can do: 1. Consult with your pediatrician: It's best to consult your child's doctor to discuss the delay. They will assess your child's health and determine if it's safe to administer the vaccine now or if any additional doses are required. Sometimes, the vaccine schedule might need to be adjusted based on the missed dose. 2. Vaccination Guidelines: Generally, the DPT vaccine is given in a series of doses at specific intervals. If the vaccination is missed, the doctor might recommend administering it as soon as possible or may advise an alternate schedule based on the child’s age and medical history. 3. Documentation: Ensure that the vaccination records are updated after the vaccine is given. Keep track of any new schedules if any additional doses are required. Even though there is a delay, getting the vaccine is still essential for your child's health, and your doctor will guide you on how to proceed.
