my son suffering from fever and cold and cough from 3 days... I consulted doctor yesterday....he said it is some viral infection happening to most of the children....given medication to 5 days.....still he having same complaints. how many days it will take to decrease..

ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician3 years agoA. Give steam inhalations 4 to 5 times a day for cold and cough, use baby vicks, use nasal drops for nasal block.
Use paracetamol in proper dose for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required.
viral infections last fir 6 to 7 days
If not improvement and accompanied by other symptoms like vomiting or loose motions or breathlessness or dullness, poor intake consult your paediatrician asap.
