Q.

my son is seven years old he is having severe cough, I have given him chericof junior cough syrup but nothing better this is third day, should you tell doctor which antibiotic can be given to treat it well soon , he is having wet cough

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the bhfever and the dose can be repeavted after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hi mom Cold and cough can take around 3-9 days to subside. so no need to worry. Continue with the chericof. Also give steam inhalation two three times a day and apply vicks vaporub on the chest and throat before sleeping.
