A. It's understandable to be concerned, but it's important to note that each child develops at their own pace. By 2 years, most children start speaking in short sentences, but some might take a little longer to develop their language skills. Since your son is speaking a few words, he is making progress. Here are a few things you can do: 1. Encourage Communication: Engage in activities that encourage talking, like reading books together, singing songs, and talking about things around him. 2. Limit Screen Time: Excessive screen time can hinder language development, so try to limit it and encourage more face-to-face interaction. 3. Use Simple Language: Speak clearly and use simple words, repeating them often to reinforce learning. 4. Be Patient: Some children may develop speech skills a bit later, and this doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. If you're concerned about his speech development, consider consulting a pediatrician or a speech therapist to rule out any underlying issues. They can assess his speech and language development and provide guidance tailored to his needs.
