Q.

my son is just 4 months old his umbilical cord in naval area has not fallen properly. So when it will go. My paediatrician says it will take around a year. Not to tie or do anything about it. my mom law is eating my head and pestering me n giving me stress that to tie a cloth around it. She behaves as though it's her son and not mine and she feels I'm not bothered.

A. the child is having umbilical hernia which is very common in children and goes away by maximum 2 years of age.x with growing age it regresses and goes inside it does not require any intervention or treatment before 2 years if it is non complicated. meet your doctor once who will tell you whether any intervention or wait and watch policy is required.
