Q.
my son is just 4 months old his umbilical cord in naval area has not fallen properly. So when it will go. My paediatrician says it will take around a year. Not to tie or do anything about it. my mom law is eating my head and pestering me n giving me stress that to tie a cloth around it. She behaves as though it's her son and not mine and she feels I'm not bothered.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. the child is having umbilical hernia which is very common in children and goes away by maximum 2 years of age.x
with growing age it regresses and goes inside
it does not require any intervention or treatment before 2 years if it is non complicated.
meet your doctor once who will tell you whether any intervention or wait and watch policy is required.
