Q.

My son is 5.5 years unable to sleep at night. He wakes up at 7am, comes from school, has lunch & Sleep by 1:30-2:30 & wakes up by 3:30-5pm depends, goes to play by 5:30 & returns by 6:30-7pm. Do homework depends & watch tv from 7-8:30, dinner & comes to bed by 9:30. This is a fixed routine. & Here after difficulty in sleeping comes. I didn't remember or paid attention to other days or from how many days but since yesterday & today for sure, he is was awake till now. what to do, how can I make him sleep on time.

A. See I do understand your concern and it would be difficult initially but I must tell you if you really want a proper schedule where you expect the child to sleep better in the night and in that case you should actually stop giving the daytime now because your child is sleeping for at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours roughly which affects a nighttime sleep so for initial one week it will be difficult when the child will be up through the day and will be active and will sleep better than night this is going to be a better formation of routine for the child for classes ahead also
