my son is 45 days old..and he is suffering from fever...i have consulted doctor and doctor has given fepanil syrup....but his fever lowers for just 2 hours...after two hours he again suffers from fever....what could be the reason

A. fever is the response of the body towards any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body and only when the temperature is above 99F it is called as fever, so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose which can be again repeated after evelttry 5 - 6 hours if required and do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever in between the doses.
