A. My 4-month-old son has started sucking his fingers a lot, which is a natural behavior at this age. Babies often do this as a way to self-soothe, explore, or even when they are hungry or teething. I make sure his hands are clean and trimmed to avoid any irritation or infection. If he’s doing it frequently, I check if he’s hungry, tired, or needs comfort. I gently distract him with toys, songs, or cuddles, but I avoid forcing his hand away as it may upset him. Since finger-sucking is common in infants, I’m not too worried unless it continues beyond the age of 2–3 years.
