Q.

My son is 3 years and having sporadic stomach ache from past 7 days, also when is defecating, it's mis sometimes it's loose and other time it's normal... now he is medicated with Rantac, Ziprax 100 & Metrogyl syrup... and fre home remedies I want to ask if this is normal to last for so many days for stomach infection and ache...

A. we are taking doctor advice and yes Entrogemina is also prescribed by him, we are keeping him hydrated with coconut water, and homely ORS as he doesn't like the taste of the OTC ORS available

A. Loose motion most of the time is because of some infection which could be viral or bacterial and in such case it is associated with symptoms like fever along with vomiting and loss of appetite . supportive treatment is very necessary where proper hydration should be maintained by giving ORS along with that probiotic can be given like enterogermina or CF econorm in a proper dose . Antibiotics has their role only if it is bacterial infection . for this doctor guidance is necessary .
