Q.

my son is 3 years and 6 months. He was tested covid positive on 25.04.2021 as per RTPCR report. He fever subsided after a single dose of paracetamol. As per government prescriptions, we are giving multivitamin, cough syrup and nasal drop. He is active but coughs 4-5 times in a day. My question when he will recover completely? And what care/testing should be done after being tested negative.

A. The incubation period of COVID-19, which is the time between exposure to the virus and symptom onset, is on average 5-6 days, but can be as long as 14 days. Thus, quarantine should be in place for 14 days from the last exposure to a confirmed case.Test again after 14 days.
