A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like exvcessive ibrritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

A. 99°F is Just base the fever has just started so it’s not much of a fever so don’t worry about it and for what purpose have you given an antibiotic that is not clear to me because antibiotics are mostly given if there is an infection and if the doctor advises otherwise antibiotics are not recommended to be givenWrite Your Answer Here
