Q.

My son is 3+ Dr told me to do hb test I does sahli hb test(capillary) the reading will be 7 gm i again does the same test(sahli) next month reading will be 7.4 gm. then I consult other paediatrician he advice me to does CBC blood test(vein) from a good laboratory result came and hb is 10 gm,i m very much confused first Dr. says hb is low other told that in this particular age hb is 10-12 gm and he recommended tonoferon iron syrup.i already gave the iron syrup for two months, a very worrying situation for me and I m totally confused, kindly told me about both the blood tests and why there is variation and which diet is suitable..

A. genrally capillary hemoglobin levels found high than venous blood. this is a confusing situation ,in which a clinical finding is important to rule out the level of anemia.. good to consult ur paedritician and cam continue iron supplement to ur child
