One of the most common reasons why older babies still won't eat solids as they don't like the texture. Encourage your baby to touch the food but do not force. You may need to demonstrate if baby won't let you guide their hand. Repeat this several times in a day. Give a whole large raw carrot or cucumber stick at meals. The point isn't for them to eat it but for them to put it into their mouth. When he does it, it will help desensitise his gag reflex and he can also practice biting, chewing and moving his tongue around.
