Q.
My Son is 21 months old. He has coughing since 2-3 weeks. He generally do not cough too much during the day but gets a bout of coughing around 9 pm every day. He coughs too much for almost one hour (feels bad looking at him) and then either vomits (only cough) or sleeps off getting tired. No coughing after that until next day 9pm. Has anyone faced this ?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor accordingg to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the djhgose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Are you giving something particularly only in the night which is aggravating the issue because this is when this thing happened and I would advise you to ones get a check with your paediatrician as well to figure out what could be the issue and then start with the medication because sometimes he sings happened during the night time when the child comes into a stable mood so that could also be the reason actuallyWrite Your Answer Here
