Q.
my son is 21 month old...he is not speaking yet...he can wave,clap...points to body part and can understand commands well..he babbles a lot...he use to make animal sound..like dog and cat till last week...now not making that..but he can identify dogs and points to them..but not speaking yet...is there anythg to be concerned...

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist4 years agoA. by 1 year baby will be saying monosyllables atleast. it will improve eventually, and by 2 years baby should be able to follow simple commands and should speak 2 word sentences. by 3 years it's 3 word sentences. may vary a little .
