A. While it's not uncommon for milia to appear in infants and toddlers, prolonged or recurring cases warrant attention. Milia are small, white bumps that can develop when dead skin cells become trapped near the surface of the skin. In infants, they typically resolve on their own within a few weeks or months. However, in persistent cases like your son's, it is advisable to consult a pediatrician or a dermatologist for further evaluation and appropriate treatment. The healthcare provider may recommend gentle skincare practices, such as using mild cleansers and moisturizers, to help manage the milia. In some cases, they may suggest procedures like gentle exfoliation or extraction to remove the bumps.
