my son is 2.5 years old is 99.8 the normal temperature or should I give him fever medicine kindly suggest

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .
Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever.
Adequate flfhuid intake is alsob beneficial.
Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Temperature at 99° or above 99° is considered fever right now your child is having fever and you are mentioning the temperature is 99.80 ahead with giving basic Albon or any other paracetamol Best medicine that you have available at home that you can give to the childWrite Your Answer Here
