A. How does the baby vomit? Is it whole milk? Then it could be because of overfeeding. The excess milk the baby takes more than he could hold stays in the esophagus and pops out as vomit. Some babies may spit up curdled milk, which has stayed in the tummy for longer time and popped out. Baby's tummy can hold only small amount of feed at any point of time. That's why babies feed less but more frequently. So Try reducing the feed from the usual quantity and make feeds more frequent. Burp the baby well and keep him in an upright position for some time before laying down. Laying the baby in a slightly elevated position with head high than the body can also help. Laying the baby on the left side will also help digestion. But if the baby vomits with a sour smell and more curdled with a different color , then it could be due to indigestion. In that case you should consult your pediatrician. He may prescribe medicine which will treat the indigestion problem.
