Q.

My son is 13 months old and got mild wet cough, had a low grade fever and mild runny nose. Doctor has prescribed Citrizine syrup. Is Citrizine really helpful in this case as other doctors generally prescribe this for allergy?

A. Cough and Cold dd along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the time supportive treatment is given. along with that cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given. steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.

A. Yes but coughing sometimes could be due to energy which is why your doctor advised you this antiallergic apart from that would definitely advise you to go ahead with giving Calpol or paracetamol whatever medicine you have available for feverWrite Your Answer Here
