Bedwetting is common at night, but children can usually control urination during the day. The issue often improves with age, so medication is not typically needed unless advised by a doctor (waiting until the child is around ten years old is appropriate). Medication, if prescribed, usually provides symptomatic relief, but the problem often resolves as the child's bladder muscles strengthen with age.
To address bedwetting, limit fluid intake before bedtime and have the child use the bathroom before sleeping. You can also wake the child up around 2-3 AM to urinate. Avoid blaming the child, as stress can worsen the issue. Consult a doctor for more guidance.
