Q.

my son Advik is 2 years old now ...he speaks only very few words ...he don't try by his own to speak ....he is active ...he do actions according to our instructions ...he play well by his own ... but not trying to speak by his own ..... as i saw many of year childerns try to speak well ....but he use hand gestures if wants something instead of asking ...for ex : water he speaks only specific words ...beyond that nothing he tries ... I am worried is this cause of short memory ๐Ÿ˜” plz help us doctor

A. development by the age of 2 years the child should be able to speak few words with meaning in the sentence and should be able to understand all the commands and orders given by the parents and if you feel that they are not present in your child it is important to meet your pediatrician to assess the growth milestones of the child and whether there is any need of therapy or not. if child has good undersxtanding and follows orders and command of the parents properly then do not worry much about speech as will eventually come. talk more with child. avoid tv mobile laptop. involve more people to interact with the child.

A. just encourage your child by communicating with him more play different games, sing rhymes, and read stories with your child which definitely help in this

A. hi no.. no.. it seems normal because each child is unique and grow at own pace so first thing, please don't compare your child with others if child is able to understand the basic things well,.or your simple commands ,make eye contact while talking, then no need to worry about it much
