Q.
my son 2yrs old has cold and cough...doc prescribed ZEET syrup...but still cough is more than 2 days is it okay

ExpertDr. Pandurang sawantPaediatrician6 years agoA. It will take more time Continue same as per doctors advice Most of the time cough cold, fever are viral in origin, it may subside by 3 -9 days. No need of any medication if mild. If fever above 100F then need fever medication (paracetmol) as per weight. If baby have cold then need steam inhalation, nasal decongestant drops (nasivion baby nasal drops/Otrivin-P nasal drops 1drop in each nostril 3-4 times a day for 3 days). If cough then need cough syrup or drops as per babys cough condition (wet or dry). Keep ur baby well hydrated in cough cold fever episode Maintain hygiene, hand wash properly, Keep ur baby away from other infected persons if possible , continue to give all food items as before, continue breast feed as well till 1.5 yrs of age, It will help for fast recovery. If decreased oral intake, decreased urine output, breathing difficulty, Then need to re consultation

Shaista TarannumMom of a 16 yr 8 m old boy6 years agoA. it will reduce gradually and not all at once. continue to give the medicine for the number of days as specified by your doctor. it will get better soon. do not give any cold foods. give warm soups.take care and give mefufibe at regular intervals.

Nihita mittalMom of a 8 yr old boy6 years agoA. Please continue giving the medicine as prescribed by the doctor I would also suggest you give your baby a mixture prepared out of the tulsi is with little bit of ginger honey in warm water couple of times
