Q.
my niece has temperature 102 103 since morning...we gave crocin syrup...now still it's above 100 ...she is 5 years old...what we should do..shall I keep her under blanket.so sweat will come..i am also keeping wet clothes on her head and sponging her body

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctorf consultation should be done if symptoms like cexcessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
