Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Babies have two soft spots(fontanels) . The one on the back of the head closes by 1 or 2 months of age. The one on the top of the head can take anywhere between 7 to 19 months to close. It can be different in each baby. But before Tonsuring it will be good if both the soft spots are closed. Most babies get tonsured around 11 months.
