Q.

My little one is 6months 3weeks old. we started solids and he is passing hard stools. Looks like he is constipated. Could you please advise how many times in a day he can be fed. Is there any laxative he can take. if so how many times in a week. I'm trying to introduce fiber but looks like he is still constipated.

A. constipation is a very common problem in which diet modification needs to be done like including high fibres in the diet for which you can give seasonal fruits like papaya, watermelon and seasonal vegetables will also help you can give Daliya and oatsmeal also to your child which is rich in fibres and nutrients too. giving excesss of milk may also cause constipation, so you should limit the quantity. if any medication is required you should take it under medical guidance only.lactulose or polyethylene glycol is of good hehelp, sorbilene is also an option but you should give any medicine or suppository only when prescribed by your pediatrician.
